Veysel Aral, CEO of Kcell and Regional Head of Central Asia, has today been appointed President of Business area Eurasia. In this role, he succeeds Tero Kivisaari, who has been managing dual roles since his appointment as President of Business area Mobility Services in October 2012.
"Veysel Aral has a very strong track record, both as CEO of our largest subsidiary in Eurasia and as regional manager. He has an international background in telecommunications and recently led Kcell through a successful IPO process in London and Almaty. He has been a key member of the Eurasian management team and I now welcome him to the Group Management," says Per-Arne Blomquist, acting President and CEO.
Veysel Aral will keep his role as CEO of Kcell and be based in Istanbul and Almaty. He joined the TeliaSonera Group in 2007 and prior to that held several managerial positions in Ericsson. He was born in 1968 and has a BSc in Physics Engineering from Middle East Technical University in Istanbul.
