Tackling Poverty One Country at a Time
HULL, England, June 19, 2013 /PRNewswire/ --
Mozambique is one of the poorest countries in Africa
C.A.R.D. UK (Christian Association for Rural Development) - We are a charity that helps widows, orphans and children regardless of colour and beliefs.
We are currently helping the people of Mozambique to help themselves come out of poverty.
We have 131,000 acres to grow crops in three areas. We are currently cultivating 1,500 acres.
We have maize, yellow potatoes, green peppers, green beans and tomatoes.
We do not require planning permission to build churches, houses, clinics and schools.
We have the equivalent of C.A.R.D. UK in Mozambique called Acader with ten committee members recognised by the Mozambique government.
What we are doing in Mozambique is a template to go into any poor country in the world.
We are recognised by the charity commission and can go into any country in the world.
All the proceeds that are donated to C.A.R.D. UK go to the people.
The aim of the charity is that in the long term Mozambique and other countries will be self sufficient and enjoying a better quality of life. We also wish to develop education for everyone. We will have workshops to train people in different skills.
My passion is to help the less fortunate of this world in any way I can.
I believe that in the 21st century everyone should have access to food, fresh water, and medicine; education and a reasonable standard of living.
- Jeremy Chairman C.A.R.D. UK
We have also released a story about a baby bear that lives with his parents Papa and Mama Bear in an attic to raise funds for the charity - all the profits go to the charity.
