Survey: Vancouver Ranked Second-most Expensive Summer Destination in Canada
VANCOUVER, British Columbia, August 14, 2018 /PRNewswire/ --
Vancouver is the second-priciest destination in Canada this summer, according to a new survey conducted by Cheaphotels.org.
The survey compared hotel rates of 30 Canadian destinations for the month of August 2018. It should be noted only centrally-located hotels, rated 3 stars or higher, were included in the survey.
In Vancouver, visitors will spend an average of CA$324 for the least expensive double rooms available. Only one destination is more expensive. Banff, the luxury resort town located in Alberta's Rockies, leads the ranking of priciest summer destinations in the country. Canmore, another mountain destination in Alberta, completes the podium at an average of CA$316 per night for the most affordable room.
The priciest destination in Ontario is Niagara-on-the-Lake, ranking fifth most expensive overall in Canada at an average of CA$235 per night.
Toronto ranks in the midfield at an average of CA$156 per night. Least expensive among the surveyed destinations are Edmonton, Alberta, and Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, where travelers may find rooms for around CA$100 per night.
