The Zillertal Arena in Austria is the most family-friendly ski area. This is the result of an international survey from 2015, run by the tour operator SnowTrex. The Tyrolean ski area received the highest number of votes, followed by the famous 3 Vallées in France, and shopping paradise Livigno in Italy. In total, 4,400 individuals from ten European countries completed the survey.

Ski-enthusiastic families from the whole of Europe, including Germany, France, United Kingdom, Poland and the Netherlands, were asked to take part in the survey. The most important criteria for a successful family holiday were rated, including such things as the family-friendliness of a ski area and the accommodation, as well as the qualities of further leisure time activities. In total, 4,368 winter sports enthusiast participated and voted for their favourite family ski area. The overall results show the Zillertal Arena (39%) before the 3 Vallées (18.3%) and Livigno (12.5%). The following ranks 4 to 10 are also occupied by a range of famous ski areas: Skicircus Saalbach Hinterglemm, Valfréjus, SuperDévoluy, Mayrhofen-Hippach, Schmittenhöhe-Zell am See, Garmisch-Classic and Meiringen-Hasliberg.

France before Austria
Looking at only the international results, Les 3 Vallées is the family-friendliest ski area (37.3%), followed by SuperDévoluy (17.6%), and rank three is shared by the Zillertal Arena and Mayrhofen-Hippach (both 11.8%).
