Starlounge Launches Global Celebrity Content Platform

- Celebrity editorial service Starlounge (http://www.starlounge.com) launches a global platform for entertainment features and news, adding live video streaming to its portfolio of entertainment content.
- The company re-establishes its global content-share agreements with CNN and Getty Images, as well as local partners in the company's eight operating countries.
- Key staff from Turner Broadcasting and Microsoft join new venture.
Starlounge, the localised celebrity editorial service, relaunches with an enhanced team and new content partnerships with CNN International and Getty Images. Formerly part of MSN, the now independent and wholly owned service has new technical standards on all Starlounge websites include fully optimised players for tablets and smartphones and the addition of cross platform video streaming.
Available with localised celebrity content in the UK, Sweden, Italy, Netherlands, Germany, Spain, Turkey and Arabia, Starlounge is the only global celebrity site with localised content.
Andy Thompson, former Commercial Director Digital Ventures at Turner Broadcasting, is heading up the business as Partner and CEO along with Asif Hassan as Partner, Chief Operating Officer and International Editor In Chief, Steven Wilson-Beales, both formerly with MSN Microsoft.
