- SPIE and SRH, a German leading private provider of educational and health-care services, sign ten-year contract
- Eleven employees being taken over by SPIE
SPIE GmbH will be handling technical operations at the hospital center SRH in Gera, the biggest hospital in east Thuringia, for the next ten years. The multi-technical provider will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of all technical systems until 2025. Under the terms of the contract, eleven employees of the hospital's building services department will also switch over to SPIE. The two companies have agreed that details of the contract's total volume will not be disclosed.
The SRH clinic in Gera provides comprehensive medical care with 1,700 employees in 22 specialist departments. In signing the present contract, SPIE is further expanding its working relationship with the SRH Group, a leading private provider of educational and health-care services in Germany. The multi-technical provider has already been handling technical operations at the SRH Zentralklinikum in Suhl since 2007 and has permanently reduced operating costs there. Since 2007 SPIE has also been assisting with the maintenance of technical systems at the hospital center in Gera.
"The SRH Group has decided to outsource tasks that are not directly related to medical or care activities, in order to assert itself in the healthcare market," says Markus Holzke, Managing Director of SPIE GmbH. "We have already proved in Suhl that we can assist SRH in this mission with our know-how, technical expertise and innovative strength. I am confident that we will achieve similar success in Gera," Holzke adds.
