LONDON, November 30, 2011 /PRNewswire/ --
Asia's only Soldier Modernisation event will bring together senior military decision makers from Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand and more to discuss the region's current and future requirements.
From 12th - 15th March 2012, Singapore will open its doors to 70+ senior decision-makers and end-users from a broad range of Asian militaries to discuss the region's most urgent soldier modernisation requirements and long-term SMP priorities.
Soldier Modernisation Asia is the only event in the region designed to facilitate industry-military networking across the uniquely double-tiered soldier modernization market. Firstly, the agenda caters for Asian militaries looking for holistic and integrated Soldier Modernisation Programmes (SMPs) such as South Korea's Future Warrior Programme and Malaysia's SAKTI programme. Secondly, Soldier Modernisation Asia is also tailored towards militaries looking for Commercial Off the Shelf (COTS) solutions such as the Philippines Army.
The Soldier Modernisation market in Asia, which is estimated to be worth a total of 3 billion dollars, is fast-becoming a focus for international companies who are able to provide the region with both integrated and COTS solutions. The forum will also play host to some of the region's biggest industry primes, including Samsung Thales. Next March, Soldier Modernisation Asia will be host to senior military speakers from Malaysia, the Republic of Korea, Sri Lanka, the Philippines, Indonesia, Australia, New Zealand and more.
The recently released speaker panel for Soldier Modernisation Asia includes:
- Datuk Dr. Abdul Ghaffar bin Ramli, Director General of STRIDE (Institute of Defence Science and Technology Research), Malaysian MoD
- Chul Hi Yu, Director General Information Policy Bureau (J6), Ministry of National Defence, Republic of Korea
- Lieutenant General Jagath Jayasuria, Commander of the Sri Lankan Army
- Major General Jonathan C Martir, Director of the Government Arsenal, Philippines Department of National Defence
