The "Table Soloist" lamp is a fusion of specially treated coconut shell and individual brass connections with a plywood base. During its special treatment and pattern drilling, the coconut shell is processed with extreme care and precision. The lamp also comes with a bottle of coconut oil, which releases a relaxing coconut scent when the lamp is switched on.
The Story
The enchanting light effect of the "Table Soloist" is inspired by the forest and the contrasting light and shade of sunlight streaming through branches. For a young designer the challenge was to replicate this beautiful dappled effect seen in Nature, and create something that could be enjoyed by simply putting it in the perfect place at home.
The key to this design is the "Table Soloist's" main component - coconut, which was chosen not only for its sustainability, but also its significance in Hindu culture as a symbol of creation. In fact, for many years coconut has been highly valued by eastern craftsmen for its versatility and sacred nature. The "Table Soloist" is a highly personal project and Neringa created the prototype herself, transforming a traditional craft into a stylish decorative object. As a jeweler and designer, Neringa sought to give the lamp a contemporary feel, drilling holes in the coconut with utmost precision. With its unique fusion of traditional craftsmanship and modern aesthetic, the "Table Soloist" lamp was born, bringing a welcome glimpse of the sunny forest to transform the home.
