Silvergate to Co-produce Next Octonauts Series With CCTV Following 1.8 Billion Hits on China Web TV Channel Over the Last Year

Silvergate Media, the TV production and licensing company that focuses on pre-school children's properties, will be co-producing Series 5 of its internationally acclaimed programme Octonauts with China Central TV (CCTV).

Silvergate will provide the script and music whilst CCTV will develop the animation. As well as being broadcast across China including key regional satellite channels, the series will be distributed worldwide.

As part of the state visit by the President of the People's Republic of China, Xi Jinping, to the UK this week, CCTV will be signing a memorandum of understanding with Silvergate.

Octonauts series one to three were first broadcast on CCTV in June 2014. The second and third series were then re-broadcast in June and July this year, daily at 7am to 8am, and have again been broadcast this September.
