Siewert & Kau Closes Financial Year With Double-Digit Sales Growth

Comprehensive services, unequalled export expertise, excellent customer and partner relationships, the expansion in the SMB, software und mobile telecommunication business segments and an increase in demand from EU and non-EU countries give Siewert & Kau good reason to look forward to the new financial year in full confidence. With sales of approx. EUR 450 million in fiscal year 2012/2013, the IT and logistics specialist recorded sales growth of 12.5 percent, breaking its own record of EUR 400 million in the prior year by EUR 50 million.
The growing demand for hardware in the SMB segment led to a recruitment drive and required an increase to a total of 250 permanent employees. In addition, the company's exports grew - Siewert & Kau now supplies 65 countries worldwide, and counting. Both the business with peripheral devices as well as the sale of storage products was extremely solid in recent months and accounts for a significant share in the sales growth. With the new LED light business segment, the company also focuses on products for sustainable light generation.
Despite declining sales figures in the display market, Siewert & Kau succeeded in expanding its business in monitors. This development was driven with the assistance of strong partners with innovative products such as Dell, LG and AOC. The new smartphones business segment achieved pleasing results due to an increase in demand, thus seamlessly joining the business with mobile devices. In addition, the expansion of the software business unit has had a positive effect.
The 25 percent year-over-year increase in consignments made it necessary to increase warehouse space in order to ensure smooth functioning in the day-to-day business. Siewert & Kau thus plans to expand the warehouse space to approximately 20,000 square metres.
