Serono Symposia International Foundation (SSIF) has Announced the Winner of the SSIF Award 2011 Rewarding Scientific Excellence in Medical Education in the Field of Reproductive Medicine

Serono Symposia International Foundation (SSIF) has announced today, during the ESHRE Annual Meeting held in Stockholm the winner of its prestigious award established with the participation of the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology (ESHRE), rewarding Scientific Excellence in Medical Education in the field of Reproductive Medicine.

The winner, chosen among all the evaluations and upon the documentation provided by the candidate, is Professor Carlos Simon, an expert in Reproductive Medicine, Board Certified and Full Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Valencia and Scientific Director of the Fundación IVI and the Prince Felipe Research Center.

The application criteria for the award included physicians and scientists from 35 to 50 years old having five or more years of medical education services at educational live events as scientific organizer, speaker or tutor. The ideal candidate needed to have academic course teaching experience as lecturer or professor and to be author of at least 10 best papers published in the last 10 years, besides authorship of books or book chapters in the last 10 years and authorship of online courses in the last 5 years.

The individual ranking with the total number of points will be disclosed to each participants that will require it.

For his outstanding accomplishment, Professor Simon will receive the SSIF award trophy, €10.000,00 (less any taxes deductible) and will become a Member of the SSIF Advisory Committee.
