Second Antwerp Diamond Trade Fair to Take Place January 30 - February 1

ANTWERP, Belgium, January 13, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- The second edition of the Antwerp Diamond Trade Fair will kick off on Sunday, January 30 and will continue until Tuesday, February 1, 2011. Following last year's successful premiere at the Antwerp Diamond Bourse (Beurs voor Diamanthandel), the fair's 2011 edition is expanding to the adjacent trading hall of the Diamond Club of Antwerp (Diamantclub van Antwerpen). This will increase the number of exhibitors to 60 companies compared to 40 last year, allowing more Antwerp-based diamond firms to participate. The Antwerp Diamond Trade Fair is sponsored by and held under the auspices of Antwerp World Diamond Center (AWDC).

Antwerp Diamond Bourse President Artur Beller noted that the inaugural fair had proven itself very successful. "The fair organizers have invited high-end jewellery firms to attend this exclusive, by-invitation only event. This is an opportunity for these preferred buyers to connect with a wide range of Antwerp diamond companies," he said.

Beller pointed out that Antwerp is a logical venue for the trade fair given its position as the hub of the global diamond business. "More than 50 percent of the world's polished diamonds are traded in our city. No other diamond centre is able to provide a larger and more varied selection of polished diamonds, at such highly competitive prices. Add to that the excellent financial, shipping and delivery services offered in Antwerp, and you have a winner," he stated.
