Leeds-based Search Laboratory, the multilingual search marketing company, has decided to get hands-on in the fight to raise awareness for homelessness in Yorkshire.
Search Laboratory staff are sleeping rough on the streets of Leeds on 29th September 2011 with nothing more than a cardboard box to protect them from the elements, in a bid to raise money for Simon on the Streets, a local charity that offers support to the homeless and those in need.
Simon on the Streets provides emotional support for those who feel they have no one else to turn to, and importantly tackles the wider issues involved in rough sleeping. All their work is outreach based and aims to facilitate positive change in the lives of those they help.
Search Laboratory have been actively involved with Simon on the Streets over the past year,
providing advice to help them climb up the Google search results, as well as volunteering for their weekly soup run and donating money to aid their valuable outreach work.
Helen Beachell, Operations Manager for Simon on the Streets commented "Search Laboratory have entered by far the biggest team for Simon On The Streets' second annual Sponsored Sleep Out Event, with 17 members of their dedicated team sleeping rough for the night to raise funds for the charity. Simon on the Streets is wholly reliant on private funding from companies like Search Laboratory and fundraising events such as these allow them to reach a larger number of vulnerable people across West Yorkshire.
