Whilst most 12 year olds are enjoying their summer holidays, 12 year old Cameron Liffen asked to experience working life. Jon Hickey, Director of Sales & Marketing asked Cameron why he wanted to have time at Timstar. Whilst at Timstar, Cameron had the opportunity to take part in a senior management meeting giving him an overview of the company. During the week he had insight into several different areas -
An area of the business that took Cameron's interest was Customer Service. He was surprised at how the team not only had to deal with customers but also the communication between departments. He felt the team were really friendly and professional when speaking to customers and extremely hardworking. When Cameron was asked if his experience at Timstar enlightened him to any job roles and responsibilities he may like to work in the future his response was 'I would like to work in Sales management and PR as I feel I would love to manage a team of people and present business ideas to clients.'
When asking Simon Leggett Managing Director of Timstar what his thoughts were on a school pupil having time at Timstar he stated 'It's very rare that someone as young as Cameron wants to come into a business and learn what and how an organisation does things so it was a pleasure have Cameron on board.'
The team really enjoyed having Cameron at the company for a week and welcomes him back in the future if he would like anymore experience.
