Sagemcom, European Leader for Communicating Meters, has Announced its Acquisition of The Fröschl Group, German Leader in Metering Data Management Software, Thursday 25 October.
Thanks to this acquisition, the Sagemcom group, for which energy management is one of its three major activities via its subsidiary, Sagemcom Energy & Telecom, has enriched its range and confirmed its aim to become one of the world key players in smart metering solutions.

The addition of Fröschl's expertise in metering data processing software ideally completes the current portfolio of Sagemcom and should boost group growth via the acquisition of new customers. By covering the entire value chain, from communicating meters to the processing of the data collected, Sagemcom has become one of the rare actors able to offer a range meeting the future requirements of energy operators.
The Fröschl group consists of two companies (ITF, Industrie-Technik Fröschl and EDV, Elektronische Datenverarbeitung), employs 70 and provides support for more than 250 customers throughout the world with services and consultancy teams.
With turnover of almost 1.5 thousand million euros and 4,600 employees throughout the world, Sagemcom has recorded the highest level of growth on the communicating meter market (40% in 2011) and is the only supplier able to offer the three most-requested solutions by the major energy distributors in Europe.
