Russian school children won three gold medals at the international presentation JuniorSkills competition, held under the WorldSkills Abu Dhabi 2017. The mini-championship for school children aged 14 to 16 was hosted on the world level for the first time. The participants included countries such as Russia, UAE, Finland and Belarus.

School children competed in professional skills in 3 competencies: graphic design, mobile robotic technologies and electric wiring. In each of these competencies, the gold was won by the WorldSkills Russia Junior national team.
The first place in the graphic design was granted to Darya Fradkina from Saint-Petersburg. The gold medal in mobile robotic technologies was awarded to the team of Sofia Gorpenko and Roman Magonov from the Republic of Tatarstan.
The gold medal in the electric wiring competency was awarded to the Chelyabinsk pupils Maksim Alzhanov and Daniil Kalinin. The boys represented Rosatom public corporation, which since 2014 has been holding corporate competitions according to the WorldSkills standards among the production facilities and school children of sponsored schools.
According to the CEO of Young professionals Union (WorldSkills Russia) Robert Urazov, the school competitions were held on the world level for the first time, though the demand for them has already been for a long time. "Many countries of this movement use WorldSkills tools for professional counselling of the new generation, and the championship in Abu Dhabi may serve the start to promote school children competitions on the global international levek," noted Robert Urazov.
At the International presentation JuniorSkills competition under WorldSkills Abu Dhabi 2017, the Russian Junior national team was represented by 11 participants from Khabarovsk and Krasnodar krais, Murmansk, Chelyabinsk regions and Saint-Petersburg. The team includes the participants representing corporations: Rosatom and IEK.
44th WorldSkills Abu Dhabi 2017 competition was held from 14 October in the capital of the United Arab Emirates, gathering 1300 young professionals from 77 member countries of the international movement to compete for the medals in 52 competencies. The results were announced today.. The WorldSkills Russia national team including 58 competitors has been representing the country for the third time in the world championship: for the first time Russia competed on the global level in 2013 in Leipzig, and for the second - in San-Paolo, Brazil where it won and brought back 6 medals for professionalism.
