For Spring/Summer, the Holloway Road collection develops its signature look with lighter fabrics and classic silhouettes, adding an element of engineering for a refreshing take on UK heritage.

Denim and workwear staples continue to be a cornerstone of the collection, with a focus on new washes and techniques. A standout piece is the short-sleeve Railroad shirt, where cut and sew techniques are teamed with heavy washing for an authentic vintage look.

For this collection transitional pieces harness iconic British designs and materials, incorporating elements of seasonal fabrics. The single-breasted Carter coat is a strong example of this, simple and masculine, constructed in ultra-light cotton for the warmer months. An innovative approach is applied to the Columbus hunting jacket, adding linen panels for breathability. The focus for Holloway Road's footwear is in the subtleties; the suede desert shoe has replaced the mountain boot, a much less utilitarian alternative.

An injection of colour runs through the collection, with hues of dusty pink, botanical green and powder blues offsetting shades of khaki and rust. This is prevalent in the florals; the bold green Marlon shirt being a key piece for high summer, teamed with the light wash rip and repair men's jeans and low-rise loafer for a relaxed seasonal ensemble.

As elements of the range continue to evolve each season, the Holloway Road collection continues to draw upon the origins of River Island, a rich heritage dating back to 1948. Modern design styles coupled with a loyalty to tradition create a unique aesthetic, perfect for the style-conscious man.

Holloway Road will be available in selected stores and online from March 2013.
