The American football equipment market in the US is forecast to grow at a CAGR of 3.97% during the period 2016-2020.

Commenting on the report, an analyst from the research team said: Football was primarily played by men for many years, but this trend has changed, and an increasing number of women are now participating in tackle football. In 2015, the estimated percentage of girls between the ages of five to 14 playing football was around 25,000, compared to almost nil when compared to 10 years ago. The United States Women's Football League (USWFL) has been organized since 2011, with 10 participating teams. In 2014, the Women's Eights Football League, the first eight-player division league, was launched. In 2015, another tournament called, USWFL Commissioner's Bowl, was launched with the same teams as USWFL. Another women's 7-on-7 tackle American football league league, renamed as Legends Football League in 2013, is also becoming very popular. The increasing popularity of professional female football leagues has been a trend in the market.
