Aberforth Smaller Companies Trust plc (the "Company")

The Board of Aberforth Smaller Companies Trust plc is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Roy Davis as an independent non-executive Director of the Company and member of its Audit Committee with effect from 21 October 2026, as part of the Board's succession planning.

Mr Davis has over 30 years of operational line management and strategic consulting experience across a range of industry sectors. He is currently Non-Executive Chairman of Inspiration Healthcare Group plc, Surgical Innovations Group plc and the Galton Group (the trading name of Foster & Freeman Ltd). Mr Davis is also currently a Non-Executive Director of Futura Medical plc but will step down from this role with effect from 20 October 2026. From 2017 to 2023, he was Chairman of Medica Group plc.  

 

During his executive career Mr Davis was CEO of Optos Plc and Gyrus Group plc. Mr Davis also spent almost 10 years with Arthur D. Little, the global management consulting company, where he was Vice President and Global Head of its Operations Management business and latterly head of the European Telecomms, Information, Media and Electronics business. Mr Davis holds an honours mechanical engineering degree from Southampton University and an MBA from the London Business School.

 

Mr Davis was a director of C-Quential Limited until his resignation on 28 February 2001. The company entered into a creditors' voluntary liquidation on 11 February 2002 and was subsequently dissolved on 18 August 2007.

 

There are no further details or disclosures to be made under UKLR 6.4.8R.

 

Mr Davis does not have an interest in the Company's ordinary shares at this time.
