RegMedNet is powered by Zapnito, the software-as-a-service platform that enables clients to build branded online knowledge networks. RegMedNet soft launched on September 1, hosting an inaugural 200 members of the regenerative medicine community.
Network leaders include Chris Mason, Chair of Regenerative Medicine Bioprocessing at University College London; Alan Regenberg, Director of Outreach and Research Support at Johns Hopkins Berman Institute of Bioethics; Norio Nakatsuji, Chief Advisor at Kyoto Stem Cell Innovation, Inc.; and Paolo Madeddu, Professor at the University of Bristol who focuses on cardiovascular regenerative medicine and stem cell therapy.
RegMedNet fosters cross-discipline collaboration throughout the global regenerative medicine community. In an introductory video on RegMedNet's website, Future Science Group Managing Director Phil Garner explains that the RegMedNet audience can access specific articles from the Regenerative Medicine journal; follow peers' profiles to receive updates when they post new rich media; and use Zapnito's video panels and real-time recording options to join webinars and video discussions.
"I think of it as something that combines LinkedIn with Skype with blogging, but dedicated to the reg med community," Garner explains.
"Scientific, technical and medical publishing is the original social knowledge community and network," adds Garner. "For the first time a platform exists that truly focuses on this idea and makes it work. That platform is Zapnito, and we are pleased to be an early adopter of this important capability."
RegMedNet is a free network that is accessible to all with an interest in regenerative medicine. Experts in the field can apply here to post their own content and network with their peers.
