SHANGHAI and SEOUL, South Korea, Feb. 3, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Reed Exhibitions, the world's leading events organizer, has announced that it has finalized a deal to co-organize Franchise Seoul with COEX, a top Korean venue owner and leading exhibition organizer. The deal will see the two well-established exhibition management companies co-organize Franchise Seoul, a leading, large-scale exhibition for entrepreneurs, start-ups, global brands, business franchisors and franchisees, starting from the 2016 event to be held from March 3 to March 5 in COEX, Seoul, Korea.
Hosted in the South Korean capital, Franchise Seoul, first held in 1996, is an annual event, in which the food & beverage sector takes up more than 70% of the overall space. Over 10,000 retail distributors, investors, consultants, manufacturers, distributors, department stores, shopping centers, education and health care professionals, importers, exporters and representatives of trading companies were recorded for the 2015 show.
With Asia increasingly becoming one of the world's economic powerhouses, South Korea, the gateway to Asia, and one of the continent's strongest economies, attracts businesses from across the world looking for potential franchise owners and investors to help grow their brands. The Asian franchise market is projected to sustain an upward growth trend for the next few years and Franchise Seoul, which has grown steadily at 8% since 2012, will provide essential networking and business opportunities to support the expansion drives of exhibiting companies.
Commenting on the deal, Paul Beh, President of Asia Pacific, Reed Exhibitions, said: "We are excited about the potential to further grow Franchise Seoul in partnership with COEX. This strategic deal brings the show into Reed's growing global portfolio of franchise events. The collaboration makes excellent sense and will empower both Reed and COEX to give more value to our global customers to further promote their products in one of Asia's most important markets, while adding significant value to Franchise Seoul exhibitors, who will further benefit from Reed's global network."
Mr. BK Byun, CEO & President of COEX, remarked: "We're excited to collaborate with Reed on Franchise Seoul this year. We believe that Seoul is the right place and this event is the right vehicle to help exhibitors to showcase their franchise, license, brand and business concepts and visitors to find their best business matches. Through our partnership with Reed, we believe we are better placed than ever before to deliver excellent value for our customers."
Following Reed's 2014 entry into the South Korean maritime market, the deal to co-organize Franchise Seoul in early 2016 is reinforcing Reed's intent and capacity to grow in Korea. The exhibition organizer shall pursue a policy of partnerships to continue to expand its presence in the country.
