"We welcome the global summit being hosted this week by the British Government to highlight the appalling and inhumane cruelties that are inflicted upon women and children as a result of conflicts."
"Rape and sexual violence is abhorrent and destroys lives and communities. The international community must unite to condemn it and work together so that those who perpetrate it are held to account. Sexual violence is not and must not be seen as an inevitability of war. Similarly, cultural practices such as female genital mutilation must stop as they are barbaric and have no justification whatsoever.
There is no place for such atrocities in this day and age, and we hope that the summit will enable governments to deal with such inhumane issues more effectively."
