Promotions for the 14th WCIF held in Beijing, Guangzhou and Shanghai
CHENGDU, China, April 18, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Recently, the Organizing Committee of the Western China International Fair (WCIF) held a number of promotion conferences for the 14th WCIF. These promotion conferences attracted a great number of representatives from domestic and overseas enterprises, international organizations, chambers of commerce and associations home and abroad, as well as foreign embassies in China. The activities provided a good platform for the attendees to communicate with each other and seek business opportunities.

The promotion activities attracted 449 guests from 132 domestic and overseas enterprises in total, including Microsoft, Sony, Cisco, and Sharp; 41 international organizations; chambers of commerce and associations home and abroad including Global Alliance of SMEs and British Chambers of Commerce; 51 Chinese chambers of commerce and associations including the Guangdong Chamber of Commerce for Household Appliances and Shanghai Food Association, as well as 38 foreign embassies in China, including the embassies of the Netherlands, the USA and the ROK. At the conferences, detailed introduction to the WCIF was made. A total of 57 media made reports on the promotion conferences. Among them were the Xinhua News Agency, CBN and International Finance News. The media reports helped WCIF win great attention of the people from all walks of life.
Attendees were full of enthusiasm for the activities and showed great interests in using WCIF to expand their market in West China. The chief representative of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation hoped that the cooperation between China and Russia could be deepened through economic and trade communication with the WCIF as a platform. Director of the Office of Oita Prefecture (Japan) in Shanghai said Oita Prefecture has realized that West China has rich resources and a good foundation for the development of manufacturing and business service sectors, and they would like to enhance their connections with West China in the future. Wang Tianmei, director of American Center Shanghai (AmCham Shanghai SME Center), said that discussions about ways for enhancing communication and cooperation between American state governments and business groups and Sichuan might be made based on the Michigan delegation's visit to Sichuan during the 2012 WCIF.
The 14th WCIF will be held in Chengdu from October 23 to 27, 2013. With a theme of "building new regional cooperation layout, activating new vitality for western development," it will cover an exhibition area of 180,000 square meters, including six pavilions and outdoor exhibition areas.
