On Sunday, 14 April 2013, the Federation of European Professional Photographers (FEP), the European confederation of national professional bodies of photographers from 22 countries, presented the European Photo Book of the Year Awards. A high-ranking international jury, headed by Italian photographer Adriano Scognamillo, chose the best photo books from entries across Europe. Each year the event is held in a different member country. This year the illustrious crowd of professional photo-enthusiasts met at the Gmundner Fototage in Austria and were presented with the prizes at the Gmunden theatre.
"Of course, I am very happy about all our prizes, but we particularly cherish the BEST EDITOR AWARD and the jury's verdict of exceptional photographic quality, interplay of creative ideas and perfect technical realization, plus the wide thematic range of our books, which, they argued, made us the best photo book publisher in Europe. This is simply marvellous. ART FOR PEACE interprets the unique UNESCO art collection at its headquarters in Paris, PASSION portrays all 143 members of the Vienna Philharmonic, and in LE LOUVRE NU SCULPTURES I tried to find a new photographic angle on the fascination of the naked body in art - taking the sculptures of the Louvre collections as an example," commented editor and photographer Lois Lammerhuber.
