Portaltech Wins Bunzl Lockhart Catering Account for Creative Design & eCommerce Re-platform on Hybris

Portaltech are pleased to announce the recent account win to re-platform on hybris and integrate commerce operations for Business to Business catering supplies specialist, Bunzl Lockhart UK. Portaltech will also be managing and executing the creative re-brand and front end design for the website.
Lockhart Catering, owned by Bunzl PLC, a leading specialist global distribution group, who supply a broad range of non-food consumable products & services to the grocery, food, cleaning, safety and healthcare markets. Originating in Slovakia in 1854 and listed on the London Stock Exchange for over 50 years, Bunzl now supply product to 24 countries across 4 continents and have a global turnover of GBP4.8bn year ending 2010.
Lockhart Catering was founded in 1940 and are the market leading suppliers of catering equipment & services to leading brands, restaurants & catering companies in the UK.
Lockhart Catering approached Portaltech with a strategic project to re-brand their proposition online and to implement best of breed eCommerce features and functionality using the latest version of the hybris multi channel platform. Improved search and navigation, superior usability for both B2B and B2C customers along with a simplification of the checkout process for fast ordering will ensure that Lockhart Catering continues to offer its traditional business customers a great service but also offer the regional and independent catering market a unique, flexible and highly competitive ordering experience.

Portaltech will be re-platforming the Lockhart catering business on the latest version of hybris, using the QuickLive project accelerator for low cost, rapid deployment of the website. With a strong B2B customer base, the group were keen to develop more advanced online ordering and account management functionality so customers could manage their buying online. Navigation and search of appropriate ranges and brands was also key, enabling customers to quickly find new, or repeat order products. Lockhart also wanted to improve the way product ranges and product information was presented and to enhance day to day trading with improved promotional functionality.
