Pioneers.io Partners with Nikkei to Launch Pioneers Asia: Bringing the Leading Startup and Future Tech Event to Tokyo, Next Year
TOKYO, November 18, 2015 /PRNewswire/ --
The Vienna based company that has been supporting tech startups Pioneers.io, is partnering with Asia's leading business media company, Japan-based Nikkei Inc. to bring the Pioneers Festival experience to Asia, organizing Pioneers Asia 2016 in March.
Pioneers aims to continuously increase the success rate of start-ups by building valuable business relationships for entrepreneurs, corporate executives and investors to make their business thrive.
Consequently, the founders decided to go global with Pioneers to support startup and tech ecosystems around the world. "Since we agreed on expanding internationally with Pioneers Events, we took a closer look at non-European tech and startup ecosystems and Japan was very appealing. There are a lot of great start-up projects which in a first step we want to support to become successful global companies and there are established companies that are looking for innovation. Our aim is to connect those two. We have gained a lot of knowledge by supporting the European startup ecosystem. With Pioneers Asia 2016 we can now transfer our knowledge to the Asian market for the first time and help building this community", explains Andreas Tschas, CEO of Pioneers.
Nikkei Inc. serves as the perfect partner for the first gloablisation step, being Asia's leading business media company with over 3 million daily subscribers and issuer of the prestigious Nikkei Asian Review.
In a first step Pioneers and Nikkei Inc. is launching Pioneers Asia, gathering 999 participants on the 23rd of March 2016 at Happo-en, Shirokanedai in Tokyo. The Viennese company founded in Vienna, Austria back in 2009 has already featured the world premiere of a flying car, Aeromobil, presented Elon Musk's Hyperloop, the world's fastest electric car Rimac and showcased how people with mobility problems can walk again (Ekso Bionics )
Hence, Pioneers now aims to identify the pioneering startups of Asia for making them globally successful through an intense mentoring program in the upcoming months, called Pioneers Dojo.
Pioneers is also fostering the collaboration between start-ups and corporations, creating synergies between the start-up and corporate worlds, working together with companies like Cisco, PwC, Red Bull and one of Japan's leading corporations, Konica Minolta.
Starting from today, late-stage start-ups can apply for the Pioneers Asia challenge to gain access and showcase their products/services at the event. Together with renowned experts, Pioneers and Nikkei will select the best 24 late-stage startup applicants from Asia and Europe to get connected to local corporations, investors and media and to compete for the grand prize.
Like in Europe, where the annual Pioneers Festival is known as `a hotspot where the future starts` (WIRED, 2015), the event in Tokyo will offer a unique setting for a strictly limited community of entrepreneurs, executives, investors, and international media to experience how startups and tech from Asia will impact our world, and to build relationships that support Asia's startup ecosystem.
"What is happening right now, many see Silicon Valley as the connecting point of the start-up community. We would like to build direct links between Asia and Europe, starting in March 2016", elaborates Mr Tschas-san.
