LONDON, Oct. 9, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Payden & Rygel today announced that St. James's Place Wealth Management (SJP), a FTSE 100 company with over £47 billion in assets under management, has appointed the firm as a sub-advisor as part of a new blended manager strategy for its Multi Asset fund. Payden & Rygel (@PaydenRygel) will manage a diversified global fixed interest mandate.
"We are very pleased to have been selected for this assignment and we look forward to a long and mutually beneficial relationship," said Joan Payden at Payden & Rygel. "Through the St. James's Place Partnership – its exclusive advisory arm – SJP (www.sjp.co.uk) is dedicated to helping its diverse client base build and preserve wealth. Its rigorous selection process appoints best in class managers to run their funds. Payden & Rygel is honoured to be part of this group."
Payden & Rygel has grown its business over the past 31 years by offering a wide array of fixed income strategies being especially known for customised solutions for large institutional global organisations such as pension funds, insurers, central banks and endowments. Today it manages in excess of £55 billion.
The SJP Multi Asset fund will use the strategy known as Payden Absolute Return Investing (PARI). The PARI strategy was launched over six years ago with the objective of generating absolute returns using the full opportunity set available to fixed income investors. Since inception, PARI has posted positive results in every calendar year and comfortably exceeded the target return of cash plus 3% to 3½%. This strategy draws on Payden's 30-plus years of experience in the fixed income marketplace. "PARI takes advantage of our best investment ideas delivering strong returns with low volatility and low correlation to mainstream assets. It's an approach that sits well in the current environment offering the potential for positive returns whilst protecting against rising interest rates," said Brian Matthews, managing principal at Payden & Rygel.
