Lacy Kolo counsels clients on the development and management of their intellectual property (IP), focusing on litigation, licensing, monetizing IP assets, and the merger and acquisition process. Dr. Kolo also utilizes her research experience in pharmacology, pharmaceutical chemistry, molecular biology, and software development to litigate complex patent and trade secret matters before the federal courts, the International Trade Commission and alternative dispute resolution forums, recently completing an arbitration in the area of DNA technology. Dr. Kolo is resident in the firm's Washington, DC office and is a member of the IP practice group. She obtained her B.A. from the University of Virginia, earned her Ph.D. in Pharmacological and Physiological Sciences from the Saint Louis University School of Medicine, and received her J.D. from George Mason University School of Law.
Charbel Maakaron's practice focuses on capital markets and acquisitions. Mr. Maakaron also draws from his commercial and business law experience to advise clients on commercial transactions, corporate structuring, real estate and commercial litigation. He has a diverse legal practice with a broad mix of prominent clients in Qatar and internationally. One of Qatar's leading corporate attorneys, Mr. Maakaron regularly represents strategic clients on all aspects of their corporate legal matters, including ongoing regulatory requirements. He joined Patton Boggs in 2007, is a graduate of the University of Bristol and holds an LLM in International Commercial Law. Mr. Maakaron is resident in the firm's Doha office, which celebrated its 10th anniversary in 2013.
