OVGuide Broadens Its Full Movie Mobile App with Search and International Availability

LOS ANGELES, Aug. 6, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- OVGuide, Inc., Los Angeles-based pioneer in online video guidance, today announced the launch of the newest installment of its industry leading free movie app across Android devices.

Previous versions of the application made more than 4,000 full movies available to watch for free, with ads inserted to generate revenue for the content owners. Upcoming trailers and clips were also available within the app as supplemental content. This new version of the application introduces search functionality, ability to link the user to titles on Netflix, Amazon Prime and other VOD services, geo detection and a dedicated section allowing users to watch the latest in celebrity news.

This Android application, optimized for tablets and smartphones, follows the successful launch of OVGuide's application on iPhone at the end of 2012 and the subsequent launch of the application on Android phone, iPad and Roku in 2013.

This version also marks the first time that users can download OVGuide internationally with availability in the UK, Canada and Australia and includes plans to expand to more countries. The U.S. version of the application is rapidly approaching two million downloads in the last eight months across iPhone, iPad, Android phone and Roku with iOS accounting for around 60% of the downloads.
