Orvana to Attend Precious Metals Summit & Denver Gold Forum; and Provides Summary of Growth Initiatives

TORONTO, Sept. 19, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Orvana Minerals Corp. (TSX:ORV) (the "Company" or "Orvana") is pleased to announce that Mr. Juan Gavidia, Chief Executive Officer, Ms. Nuria Menendez, Chief Financial Officer and Mr. Gordon Pridham, Chairman of the Board of Directors, will be attending the Precious Metals Summit held at Beaver Creek, Colorado from September 20-22, 2018. The Company will also be attending and presenting at the Denver Gold Forum, ExplDev Conference held at the Broadmoor at Colorado Springs, Colorado from September 23-26, 2018.
These two conferences will provide the Company with multiple opportunities to highlight its focus on sustainable growth through the continuing improvement of its operations and its developing exploration target initiatives. The Company continues to pursue its objectives of optimizing production, lowering unitary cash costs, maximizing fee cash flow, and extending the life-of-mine of its operations.
The Company has recently initiated an exploration program to potentially expand its exploration and business development portfolio. In addition to exploring for growth areas near the Company's Don Mario mine in Bolivia and its El Valle & Carlés mines in Spain, the Company is seeking exploration opportunities in Bolivia on the Clements, La Minta and La Cruz Mineralized Belts and conducting exploration in Northern Spain on the Oscos, Navelgas and Rio Narcea Mineralized Gold Belts. Future developments of the Company's exploration initiative will be provided when available.
The Company is also pleased to announce that the Board of Directors of the Company has confirmed the appointment of Mr. Gavidia as the Company's Chief Executive Officer ("CEO"). Mr. Gavidia was initially appointed the Company's interim CEO in January 31, 2018 as part of Orvana's restructuring of operations. Throughout Mr. Gavidia's 25 years of experience in the mining sector, he has spearheaded business initiatives and operational support for international projects with a focus on gold and copper across the Americas and Europe.
