Oppenheimer Establishes Branch In Jersey, Channel Islands, British Isles

LONDON, July 16, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Oppenheimer Europe Ltd., a subsidiary of Oppenheimer Holdings (NYSE: OPY), is pleased to announce that the firm has opened a new branch on the Isle of Jersey at 43 Hillgrove Street in the parish of St. Helier as part of its London Fixed Income business.

Lowenthal, Senior Managing Director - Head of Global Fixed Income Sales and Trading.

Paul Tanner, a Managing Director based in London, established the Fixed Income Sales and Trading Desk in December of 2008. Paul has selected three individuals to staff the new branch:

Simon A. Bakewell, as Managing Director - Institutional Fixed Income, joins Oppenheimer from Bridport & Co. (Jersey) Limited, where he traded in the full spectrum of fixed income securities and equities, and rose to a position of responsibility in fixed income sales & trading and research.

Two other professionals have joined Simon Bakewell, also from Bridport. Gary Drakes holds the designation of Chartered Market Technician (CMT). David Reid, who holds the UKSIP Investment Management Certificate (IMC).
