Openmind Networks has announced that it has now secured contracts with twenty Mobile Operators to deploy its completely NFV-compliant mobile messaging platform across Europe, Africa and Asia. Openmind Networks' NFV Messaging solution, Traffic Control 6000, has been specifically engineered to operate in an NFV environment, and supports seamless orchestration and management capabilities, ensuring that operators can maximize their NFV investments.
With this new product, Openmind Networks is again proving it's ability to lead the industry in response to the changing business and technical needs of mobile operators.
Mobile Operators are choosing Traffic Control 6000 because unlike other vendors Openmind have entirely re-developed their messaging engine to take advantage of the features and benefits of NFV technology.
Openmind has designed the system to be flexible and scalable, and has automated the upgrade and management processes using containerisation and a Continuous Delivery model.
This redesign is unique in the messaging space - as other vendors struggle to modernise their out-dated messaging platforms, Openmind's customers are reaping the benefits and power of the new NFV architecture. By integrating to the NFV orchestration layer, Traffic Control 6000 can automatically scale-out, and scale-in depending on the number of messages processed by the system. This allows operators to better manage the use of their NFV infrastructure resources during the peaks and troughs of traffic load.

Traffic Control 6000, with its micro-services architecture, implements core network platforms such as SMSCs, MMSCs, USSD Gateways and RCS Application Servers as separate Virtual Network Functions in an NFV architecture. The platform supports both SS7 and IP-based messaging services, and provides value-added capabilities such as SMS and SS7 Firewalls and advanced Enterprise (A2P) Messaging Gateways.
