"We're thrilled to once again be partnering with GigaOM Structure and look forward to hosting the pre-event reception where Structure attendees will have opportunity to meet ODCA leadership and interact with the ODCA members who are driving the enterprise ready cloud," said Marvin Wheeler, executive director, Open Data Center Alliance. "Structure:Europe is an important event for bringing the European cloud community together and a great venue for ODCA leadership to demonstrate how ODCA usage models make it easier and faster for enterprises to migrate data center IT operations to the cloud and to deliver cloud services that are interoperable, secure and free of vendor lock-in."
ODCA was launched in 2010 and since then the organization has released over 20 enterprise cloud and big data usage models and requirements documents focused on Secure Federation, Automation, Common Management and Policy, and Transparency, and including Compute Infrastructure as a Service (CIaaS), Cloud Based Identity Governance and Auditing, Data Security, Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Long Distance Migration, Platform as a Service (PaaS) Interoperability, Scale-out Storage, Software Defined Networking and Virtual Machine Interoperability. These usage models have been extremely instrumental in the development of new products from cloud solution and service providers and have been adopted by ODCA leadership companies representing a wide range of vertical market segments and including BMW, Capgemini, China Unicom, Lockheed Martin, NAB, NTT Data, T-Systems, UBS and Verizon Terremark. All ODCA usage models are available for download on the ODCA website.
