Only 40% of Change Success is Down to Capability, Reports Alembic Strategy
LONDON, November 3, 2016 /PRNewswire/ --
Capability is one of the three core pillars for successful strategic change that Alembic Strategy focus on in their newly launched London Leaders' Forum workshops.
Alembic Strategy, a new strategy consultancy, has found that capability is only one of three core pillars for successful strategic change. The other two core pillars are belief and readiness. To help leaders take into account the three pillars of successful strategic change, Nick Mayhew, Managing Director at Alembic Strategy, has founded the London Leader's Forum, and their findings on change capability will feature in the Brexit focussed inaugural workshop for directors.
"Capability is a hygiene factor. You need capability if you don't have it, but it won't be deployed if you get 'belief' and 'readiness' wrong; change will stall regardless," said Nick Mayhew, MD at Alembic Strategy.
The three core pillars of successful strategic change:
- 30% of change success is down to belief. - Is this something we should do?
- 30% of change success is down to readiness. - Are the leaders publicly supporting it?
- 40% of change success is down to capability. - Do we have the right people, processes, know-how, channels, etc. to succeed with this change?
The first London Leaders' Forum is on 9 November at 1.30pm-5.30pm, 20 St Dunstan's Hill, London EC3R 8HL. The forum '2017 - Strategies for Uncertainty' will cover ways to improve an organisation's productivity and a series of opportunities to work with other directors to provide solutions to real case studies, focusing on their challenges and presenting their issues to the group for feedback and suggestions. The forum will be followed in the evening with Alembic's launch party.
