Omnicell to Highlight New Interoperability Alliance with Cerner at Medication Safety Conference in Abu Dhabi, UAE

(NASDAQ:OMCL), a leading global provider of medication and supply management solutions and analytics software for healthcare facilities, will sponsor a symposium entitled, "Will Medication Management Improve a Patient's Health?" concurrent with its presence at the Medication Safety Conference in Abu Dhabi, UAE, on November 15-17.

As part of the conference, the invitation-only symposium on Friday, November 16, will cover medication management in both hospital and community settings and how the use of electronic information systems can impact patient outcomes. The featured speakers are:

• Amir Emamifar, Pharm D, MBA, Associate Administrator, Pharmaceutical Services at Emory University Hospitals and Clinics in Atlanta, Georgia, USA. Dr. Emamifar will speak about how the capabilities of medication technologies and hospital information systems affect patient outcomes in an academic teaching hospital.
• David Thomson, Pharmacist, Scotland, will highlight the capabilities of medication adherence solutions and their effect on patient outcomes in a community setting.
• Deirdre Stewart, RGN, RPN, PGDip HCI, Chief Nursing Officer, Cerner Middle East, will discuss how moving from paper to electronic systems has impacted patient outcomes and how evolving technology allows for earlier intervention when compliance or medication effectiveness is impacted.

Attendees will be able to meet Omnicell experts during the conference to discuss the recently announced alignment between Cerner and Omnicell. The agreement between the two companies is focused on interoperability between Cerner® and Omnicell® systems using the Cerner CareAware® connectivity architecture. This relationship was formed to decrease implementation costs, time, and maintenance for shared clients, while providing new clinical workflows to enhance efficiency and patient safety.
