LONDON, June 25, 2012 /PRNewswire/ --
With the London Olympics fast approaching there is a growing concern amongst motorists in and around London that the roads will become a nightmare during the Games. MotorQuoteDirect have therefore issued a warning about the possible effect of the Olympics on traffic in and around London.
Joe de Vries, of MotorQuoteDirect, a leading website that offers consumers an easy and effective Car Insurance Quote process, has been explaining: "There will inevitably be a noticeably large increase in the amount of traffic on our roads during the Olympic Games and it's not just central London that will be affected either. Roads going into London and connecting London to the rest of the UK are likely to become very congested at any hour of the day. Those commuting into and out of the city will have to plan their journey in advance and, to be quite honest, it's advisable to try to avoid using the roads as much as possible."
Those that work in the city will undoubtedly have concerns about their journey into and out of their place of work, however Transport for London have assured commuters that all measures will be taken to keep traffic moving as quickly as possible. MotorQuoteDirect have stated that you should check the route you are taking on a daily basis in order to avoid the possibility of getting stuck during certain events, such as the Cycle Road Race that takes place in Surrey towards the end of July.
Furthermore, MotorQuoteDirect have urged commuters to not get frustrated amidst the congestion. With so many more people on the roads, a frustrated commuter could potentially become a dangerous commuter.
Mr de Vries further added: "While the roads may well become congested, it is imperative for everyone to remain calm as a loss of temper can lead to erratic, dangerous driving. If you're out on the roads this summer during the Olympics, please take care at all times, just as you would normally."
