New Version of HostBill Enables Hosting Providers to Sell Global Public Cloud Using 55 Locations on the OnApp Federation

LONDON, November 15, 2016 /PRNewswire/ --

OnApp and HostBill have announced a new way for hosting companies to launch a global public cloud service without having to buy their own cloud infrastructure. HostBill is one of the most popular e-commerce and client management platforms for hosting companies, and the latest version is fully integrated with the OnApp Federation - a global network of on-demand clouds. Now HostBill clients can use any or all of those clouds as part of their hosting service - either extending their local clouds with OnApp's global network, or becoming a VSP (Virtual Service Provider) and sourcing all of their cloud infrastructure from the OnApp Federation.

The OnApp Federation has more than 55 compute cloud locations across the Americas, Europe and Asia-Pacific: more than Amazon, Google and Microsoft combined. Each location is available on a pay-per-use basis, with different performance tiers for development workloads, production workloads and enterprise workloads.

"HostBill has always been a popular choice for OnApp cloud providers looking for a powerful e-commerce and client management portal for their cloud service," said Carlos Rego, CVO of OnApp. "Now thousands of HostBill users can easily expand their cloud with resources from the OnApp Federation - and for newcomers to the market, the combination of HostBill and OnApp makes it easier than ever to launch a global cloud."

"The power of the OnApp Federation is that it helps you compete with much larger cloud providers," said Zied Ouled Ali, CEO of Safozi, the first cloud provider to launch in Tunisia. "It means you have access to global cloud infrastructure without having to build your own - and it gives your customers access to new locations, which helps them grow too. Now we can use the OnApp Federation through our HostBill billing platform, it's going to be even easier to add scale and reach to our local clouds."

HostBill integrates with the on-premise and Virtual Service Provider editions of OnApp. Fully hosted versions of both OnApp and HostBill are available, enabling cloud providers to pay monthly for their OnApp cloud management platform, their HostBill portal and their on-demand cloud infrastructure - and take a new cloud to market with no up-front investment in hardware or software.
