New Gas Fireplace Achieves Highest Efficiency Rating in Europe

DUNEDIN, New Zealand, Nov. 5, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- The British Standards Institution recently rated the Escea DX series fireplace the most efficient in Europe.

The innovative New Zealand based company achieved a 94.1% energy efficiency rating from the Institution as part of their CE certification process. The certification now allows Escea to sell products to most European countries.

The company has had a series of successes of late including being named as been named as one on New Zealand's Ten Hot Emerging Companies by TIN100 and the DX Series fireplaces placed in the top six in the World Architect News Product of the Year competition.

Escea Managing Director Nigel Bamford sees CE certification as an important step forward for the company.

Before receiving the top rating, Escea had established a Norwegian distributor, reflecting the Scandinavian commitment to energy-efficient, environmentally friendly home heating. The DX1500 is currently also available for sale in New Zealand, Australia and the United Kingdom. However, Escea is now actively looking to develop additional European distribution networks in the coming months.

The Escea DX1500 and smaller model the DX1000 have been popular with architects and designers in Australasia since their release in 2011, the minimalist, versatile styling, and ability to evenly distribute heat throughout a home. Additionally Escea's Smart Heat system allows fireplace owners to control their fireplaces remotely via internet or smartphone.

These features paired with the well-deserved top efficiency rating suggest that it will only be a matter of time before households across Europe are benefiting from environmentally conscious Kiwi design.
