New Danville Selected As 2013 Hunting Art Prize Charity

HOUSTON, Oct. 30, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Hunting PLC announced today that the 2013 Hunting Art Prize Charity will be New Danville, a self-sustaining, master-planned community designed to support adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The nonprofit works to inspire self-reliance and autonomy by providing low-cost housing and educational sessions that teach basic life and job skills.

This is the second consecutive year New Danville has been selected as the Hunting Art Prize Charity.

Each year, Hunting selects one well-deserving, Texas-based nonprofit to receive a donation on behalf of the Hunting Art Prize. New Danville will be presented with its contribution at a separate event following a gala to announce the winner of the 2013 competition. 

The annual Hunting Art Prize is open to Texas artists who are 18 years of age or older. Its $50,000 award is historically the most generous annual award in North America for painting and drawing. 

Since 2006, when the competition moved to Houston after a quarter-century in the United Kingdom, Hunting has contributed more than $600,000 to under-served nonprofits in Texas.
