Funding aims at international expansion and market integration of 'the grid'
Ghent based SDNsquare, a provider of Software Defined Networking (SDN) solutions has closed a €1,5 million investment round led by the investment and advisory firm Merapar. SDNsquare offers high performance storage and network products for the media industry which is increasingly challenged by performance and reliability issues in handling large media files. The funding will allow the company to accelerate both its international expansion and the deployment of 'the grid'. This product optimises the utilisation of network capacity through automated provisioning of end to end IP flows without packet loss. SDNsquare aims to become the global standard for SDN software in 'mission critical environments'. Merapar targets early-stage companies in the technology, media and telecom sectors.
"SDNsquare illustrates our strategy of investing in companies that are able to disrupt industries and have the potential to make a real difference to people's lives at work or at home," said Parm Sandhu, Chairman at Merapar.
Since its inception in 2010, award-winning SDNsquare has built a strong capability in tackling reliability and performance issues in storage and IP networks.
Lieven Vermaele, Founder and CEO of SDNsquare said: "Merapar offers us a unique combination of financial security and real operational and management support to execute on our strategy. They were real standout candidates amongst all the potential investors we met as part of this investment round."
