At the opening ceremony of National day of Kazakhstan, Mr. Lee Djun Hee, Commissioner General of the EXPO 2012 and Mr. Bakhytzhan Sagyntayev, the Minister of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Kazakhstan have underlined the importance of the bilateral relationships between Kazakhstan and Korea. They expressed their hope that these relationships will only grow and become stronger.
- The theme of EXPO 2012 "The living ocean and coast" is directly connected to the theme offered by Kazakhstan for EXPO 2017 "Future Energy", - said Mr. Sagyntayev, - we were really interested in participating on this event. I want to express my gratitude to Commissioner General and all Korean friends for their full support and assistance during the preparation for EXPO 2012.
As mentioned earlier, Kazakhstani pavilion in Korea has an area of 774 square meters. Our pavilion demonstrates the efforts undertaken by the Government of Kazakhstan for saving the Aral Sea and environmentally regenerating the Sub-Aral region. Also the pavilion presents current project of preserving the ecosystem of the Caspian Sea and its coastal areas. A special place in the Kazakhstani pavilion has been set aside for Astana's bid to host the EXPO in 2017.
Kazakhstan prepared a colorful and memorable cultural program to celebrate its National Day. The celebration began with a solemn flag raising ceremony as the national anthem being played, after which the official part of the festivities started. The program included a tour of the pavilion and a gala concert on Ocean Plaza.
- I have visited Kazakhstani pavilion for the first time and I enjoyed your cultural performance. I got much more information about Kazakhstan, its picturesque mountains, steppes and rivers, especially by watching video film and using interactive map. I would like to congratulate all Kazakhstani people with successful celebration of National day at EXPO 2012, - said Mr. Lee Djun Hee.
The National Day of Kazakhstan will stay in the memories of visitors as bright and original cultural program. Long queues in front of the EXPO Hall and live interest of locals shown to Kazakhstani pavilion and our country are not an exception.
