MUNICH, February 9, 2015 /PRNewswire/ --
Former German President Christian Wulff, former Austrian Chancellor Dr. Wolfgang Schüssel and Dr. Ingo Friedrich (European Economic Senate) discussed their views on the current situation in the European Union in front of an audience of 120 guests from the worlds of business and politics at the Bayerischer Hof hotel on the eve of the Security Conference in Munich. In the environment surrounding the current crises, there is a clear sense of pulling closer together within the EU. Martin Schoeller, Chairman of the Bavarian Section of the Family Businesses' Association (Familienunternehmer), opened the Europe Conference on behalf of the founding committee (see http://www.europakonferenz.eu) and stated: "The EU can expect positive impulses in the areas of communications and strategy from an independent, unofficial and pro-European forum working at the highest level." The Chairman of the Munich Security Conference (MSC), Ambassador Dr. Wolfgang Ischinger, explained the Security Conference's interest in enhancing the international meeting in the future with synergistic topics: "The Security Conference welcomes the Europe Conference with its complementary role in terms of organisation and content leading up to the MSC as the strategic forum for European affairs."
