LONDON, September 10, 2012 /PRNewswire/ --
Cheap flights are not just for summer sun holidays; Monarch is now offering its customers the chance to travel to the heart of the Alps for 2012-13 ski holidays. The company, which offers affordable flights and package holiday deals to destinations across Europe, is expanding its offers to skiing customers who want to get to the slopes for less.
Flights to four new skiing destinations are being offered from December 2012: Grenoble in France, Munich and Friedrichsafen in Germany, and Innsbruck in Austria. Skiers can book now for their upcoming season's break away in the mountains.
Grenoble is the gateway to some of the French Alps' best ski resorts. Big name resorts such as Les Deux Alpes, Courchevel and Alpe d'Huez are within 90 minutes' drive, as are many smaller resorts, including the exclusive Megeve.
Munich and Innsbruck are both within easy reach of the resorts of the Austrian Tyrol, where centuries of tradition combine with modern ski facilities for an unforgettable holiday. They include Mayrhofen, Obergurgl and St Anton. Friedrichshafen is perfect for those wanting to travel to resorts in the home of skiing - Switzerland. They include Lech, Klosters and Flumserberg. As well as these new routes, skiers can travel to the Italian Alps via Monarch's existing routes to Milan, Venice and Verona.
The Alps are not just for skiers, though. Spring and summer holidaymakers will be able to take advantage of the new routes to enjoy fresh mountain air, great resort facilities and plenty for children and adults alike to do. Most ski resorts have an extensive list of summer activities, including hiking, mountain-biking and rock-climbing. With their heated pools and gorgeous scenery, an Alpine summer holiday can be a great alternative to the beach.
Of course, these cities are not only gateway destinations for the Alps. Innsbruck is an atmospheric city with picturesque cobbled streets, surrounded by stunning mountain vistas. In Germany, Friedrichshafen sits on the shores of the beautiful Lake Constance, a vast body of water surrounded by the Alps and Black Forest, which enjoys an almost Mediterranean climate in summer.
Munich, the cosmopolitan capital of traditional Bavaria, is a fantastic destination all-year-round: remember to book your flights to Munich with Monarch for a trip to the city's world famous Oktoberfest!
Monarch specialises in offering affordable travel to the world's best destinations, including some of the finest ski resorts in Europe. Flights to Innsbruck leave from Manchester, flights to Munich and Grenoble leave from Manchester, Birmingham, London Luton and Leeds/Bradford, while flights to Friedrichshafen leave from Manchester and London Gatwick. Prices for all destinations start from £34 per person including taxes.
