The annual Monaco International Forum opens today under the patronage of His Serene Highness, Prince Albert II of Monaco. This year's theme is Water: Crucial Issue for the Next Millennium. Each year the Forum provides opportunities for leading figures to discuss issues of global importance.
The intensive one-day conference features discussions of water resource management, use of membrane technologies to enable zero discharge of wastes and total recycling as well as the unique challenges posed by new resource extraction technologies. Mr. Wojciech Janowski, Honorary General Consul of Poland to Monaco, has organized the conference in association with UNESCO SIMEV, the Polish Chamber of Commerce and Industry in France, the Consulate of Poland in Monaco, the Monaco Chamber of Economic Development and Firmus SAM.
This year's conference features speakers from the European Space Agency, the European Parliament, the French National Centre for Scientific Research (CNRS), the Polish Institute of Electronic Materials Technology, Kenitra University (Morocco), the Paul Emile Victor Polar Institute (IPEV), Firmus SAM and UNESCO SIMEV.
