Minute Launches First Real-Time Meeting Collaboration iPad Application
- Application debuts in the United Kingdom due to high tablet penetration and usage
LONDON, Feb. 4, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Minute (http://www.getminute.com), a company founded and funded by Decos Technology Group, today announced the launch in the United Kingdom of its real-time meeting collaboration application for iPad®. Minute is the first and only iPad application that enables anyone who has meetings to collaborate, share, and manage their meetings in real-time anywhere there is an Internet connection. The United Kingdom was selected for the launch of Minute due to the country's high concentration of tablet use, where nearly 20 million people (one-third of the population) will use a tablet at least once per month, up 39 percent over 2012's 14.1 million users according to a report by eMarketer. The Minute application is available as a free download now at the Apple App Store.

"We devised and designed Minute because we know that for most workers and managers, meetings are not as useful as they should be," said Roel Noort, CEO of Minute. "We can all relate to that feeling; sitting in a meeting with our colleagues all the while knowing it won't achieve anything of value. With Minute, anyone with an iPad can supercharge meetings, spending less time in them and getting more done. It empowers workers to make their meetings more productive and collaborative. Minute is the next step in the paperless office, and we hope it will make a significant impact on productivity and efficiency in businesses of all sizes all around the U.K."
Minute interfaces with Facebook, LinkedIn, and Google, making it easy to connect with fellow attendees through social networks. Integration with Microsoft Exchange, Google Apps, Evernote, and Dropbox enable effortless sharing of meeting minutes, to-do lists, and other documents in the cloud. Additional features and benefits include:
- Facilitates real-time co-creation of meeting notes and document sharing enhanced by group chat;
- Enables meeting organizers and participants to not be confined to a conference room and host a meeting anywhere;
- Collects agendas, to-do lists, notes, photos, documents, participant lists, and more, so nothing gets lost;
- Notifies all meeting participants when tasks are completed; and
- Streams presentations and documents on Airplay-capable display or on other users' iPads.
According to eMarketer, tablet penetration is highest in the UK at 38.2 percent, compared with the rest of the top five EU markets (Germany, Spain, France and Italy). The average across the top five is 24.4 percent, though it is projected to hit 37 percent in 2016. The report also found that between Q2 2012 and Q2 2013, the 18 to 34 year old age group grew their percentage of the total most significantly, to account for more than one-quarter of tablet owners. Additionally eMarketer predicts that UK tablet penetration will reach 69 percent by 2017 for those between the ages of 18 and 44.
