This summer sees the seventh Camden Fringe festival return to London, from 30th July until the 26th August, across 14 London venues. This growing event offers a variety of performances and there is something to interest and entertain everyone!
After huge success in 2011, the Camden Fringe has returned to promote local creative talent. Types of cultural entertainment that will be featured include theatre, dance, comedy, and poetry and there are over 400 performances taking place across North London throughout the event. Modern adaptations of Shakespeare's plays will be performed, alongside opera shows and dance pieces from the Tarangano Theatre. This connection could be related to the fact that the Camden Fringe was set up by Zena Barrie and Michelle Flower, who produced comedy at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival for four years. They then started running the Etcetera Theatre so visitors to this event will know that they are in good hands!
The venues of the Camden Fringe this year stretch from Highgate, through to Camden town and Covent Garden, with each venue providing a unique and interesting performance.
