Fiduciary Capital will provide active investment and asset management services to institutional investors and financial institutions.
Michael A. Gerlich, a Managing Director & Principal of Rockpoint Group has formed the Germaninvestment and asset management firm Fiduciary Capital. Fiduciary Capital's core principle is to act as a true fiduciary, a steward of third parties' capital.
Gerlich said: "Our goal is to create tailored repositioning concepts for problematic assets and then to speedily execute these concepts. Our focus will be on assets with chronic vacancies and/ or refurbishment needs."
Fiduciary Capital's new acquisitions on behalf of institutional and private equity capital partners will focuson commercial assets that offer the potential to achieve attractive returns primarily through hard work at the property level and that possess underwriteable low to moderate downside risk. "We will continue to stay well away from transactions with a potentially binary business plan."says Gerlich.
Since late 2005 Gerlich was a Managing Director & Principal of U.S. private equity real estate firm Rockpoint Group. Gerlich built and led its German business and managed and acquired selectively and individually office assets in the top five German office markets Munich, Dusseldorf, Berlin, Frankfurt and Hamburg with a total value of approximately $1.5 billion.
Prior to Rockpoint Gerlich spent a total of ten years, among others, as theManaging Director of the German real estate arms of General Electric Capital Corporation and of Lend Lease Real Estate Investments, where he also founded and managed one of the first Shariah-compliant funds in Europe. He has acquired and managed assets totaling over $2.5 billion across all sectors.
