LONDON, July 31, 2018 /PRNewswire/ --
MedShr, the App for Doctors, has partnered with CPD UK to award CPD accreditation for clinical case discussion from 1st August 2018. This new development recognises the educational value of creating and sharing clinical cases, and MedShr is the first digital platform to offer accreditation for case discussion.
Medical professionals who create high-quality clinical cases can now receive thirty minutes of CPD credit that can be added to their training or appraisal portfolio.
"We are delighted to offer CPD credits for members to create and share their cases - we know that this is an essential part of developing and maintaining high-quality patient care," says Founder and CEO, Dr Asif Qasim.
MedShr CPD accreditation has a simple framework, with credits awarded if a case meets the following criteria:
- Clinical case addresses a specific aspect of clinical practice or engages members in discussion on a topic within clinical practice
- Sufficient clinical information in the case description that may be supported by case images or videos to allow members to understand the context
- At least one specific question or discussion point
- Evidence that the case creator has reflected or engaged in discussion on the clinical issues raised
MedShr was developed to allow quick and simple clinical case sharing and discussion whilst protecting patient privacy and is now used by over 500,000 medical professionals around the world. It is GMC and HIPAA compliant in terms of patient privacy, data protection and information governance. It only takes a few minutes to create and share a case, and CPD accreditation can be requested with a one-click review.
The new MedShr Quick post system allows doctors to share cases as part of their daily practice. "Clinical case discussion is a powerful tool for doctors to learn from one another," says Dr Qasim. "Discussing cases allows doctors to reflect on their daily practice and translate evidence from discussion into better patient care."
Developed by doctors, MedShr allows verified doctors, healthcare professionals and medical students around the world to share knowledge and learn from each other through case discussion in a compliant private network. MedShr has over 500,000 members in 180 countries covering all clinical specialties.
MedShr is working with specialist medical societies to support learning for their members. As well as case discussion, pilot studies are in progress in the NHS and working with Health Education England.
