MEDIA ARE INVITED TO ATTEND Delivering Health Globally: Examining the Challenges and Opportunities in the 21st Century
DUBAI, United Arab Emirates, Oct. 22, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Members of the media are invited to attend three events hosted by the Harvard Medical School Center for Global Health Delivery—Dubai.
On Sunday, October 25 at 2 PM UAE time, under the Patronage of HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, and Ruler of Dubai, the Harvard Medical School Center for Global Health Delivery—Dubai will host their inaugural symposium, convening global experts on diabetes and obesity, surgical care, infectious disease, and mental health.
The event will focus on innovative strategies for care delivery, including building local capacity for research and strengthening comprehensive health systems for care delivery.

On Monday, October 26, beginning at 10:00 AM UAE time, the Center will host a second symposium in tandem with a new series of papers to be published in The Lancet. This event will focus on charting a course to end the global epidemic of tuberculosis, a scourge that currently kills 1.5 million people every year.
On Monday, October 26, beginning at 2:00 PM UAE time, the Center will host a third symposium, Towards Zero TB Cities: Building Community-Based Health Care Delivery Models for the 21st Century to launch an ambitious project that aims to quickly reduce to zero TB deaths in municipalities that currently have high concentration of disease.
