Annie Stevenson crowned the UK's Smartest Shopper after beating 1000s of rivals
After a gruelling and competitive search, Savoo.co.uk, the money-saving destination site, has found the UK's most knowledgeable and smartest shopper. Annie Stevenson, from Peterborough, beat thousands of rivals to claim the title, a cheque for £10,000 and the opportunity to transfer all her amazing money-saving knowledge into a blog for the shoppers of the UK.

The finals day for the UK's Smartest Shopper took place last week at a secret location, with 10 finalists undergoing interviews from some of the country's most revered money savers. Marc Lockley, the author of 'How to Pay Less and Get More' and bloggers AThriftyMrs and Miss Thrifty joined the Savoo General Manager on the panel and tested the finalists money-saving knowledge. But there could be only one winner and Annie prevailed, due to what the judges described as her 'wow factor'.
Mother of one Annie, 28, started taking savvy shopping seriously after getting into debt and has transformed her life as a result. She commented, "I can't believe I have won this amazing prize and working with Savoo and my mentors to create a blog is something I have always wanted to do. I want to make money-saving 'cool' and let people know how easy it has become if you know what you're doing."
Award-winning personal finance blogger Miss Thrifty, real name Karyn Fleeting, commented, "The tanked economy and our straitened household budgets have turned us into a nation of smart shoppers and clever scrimpers.
